Lisa Light Makes Wedding a '"Perfect 10"

What's better than winning a free wedding? Having Destination Bride's own Lisa Light help plan the entire day for you. For James and Natalie, their dreams certainly came true when they were selected for the Perfect 10 Wedding given away in conjunction with WTEN-TV in Albany, NY.

Although the couple attended the same Albany-area high school, they never dated. It was after college that the two ran into each other in Boston and soon fell in love. James proposed a year later, on a romantic beach in Maine.

Once engaged, they moved back to Albany to begin preparing for their lives together, and were happy to be chosen as the Perfect 10 wedding couple - with the opportunity to have an all-expense paid wedding, honeymoon AND a PT Cruiser!

"We were excited to share our wedding memories with Channel 10 and their viewers because we think our story is so interesting and inspiring. It really exemplifies the old cliché: Don't look for love, it will find you when you least expect it" explained the happy couple.

Lisa Light was guest host for the ongoing television news segment, which included viewer participation, and led to a nuptial celebration on September 29, 2002.

Light explained to the bride and groom, as well as the audience, all the ins and outs of planning a wedding.

Each week starting in July, viewers tuned in to see Light explain each element needed to make a wedding celebration complete. Lisa guided the audience to cast their votes to determine the style and substance of the couple's wedding. Nearly every detail, from invitations to the bride's gown, from the flowers to the honeymoon, was determined by votes cast weekly via the web by Channel 10's viewers.

"This was a great way for people to see - and appreciate - the thought that goes into planning a wedding," said Light, "and how important it is to have a wedding professional helping every step of the way, so no detail is forgotten."
