Michelle & Josh's Feature in WellWed New York

“WE CHOSE TO GET MARRIED UPSTATE IN ORDER TO ENJOY A WEEKEND WITH OUR FAMILY & FRIENDS IN THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE, AWAY FROM THE HUSTLE & BUSTLE OF DAILY LIFE,” SAYS MICHELLE.

THE PROPOSAL. It was on a trip to visit Josh’s parents in Western New York that Josh decided it was time to take the next step. A few hours into the drive, he suddenly pulled over next to a scenic overlook in the Delaware Water Gap. Michelle thought it was somewhat odd but went along with it. She was shocked when Josh got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Even better, he surprised Michelle by inviting her family across the country to his parents’ house to celebrate that weekend. When the newly engaged couple arrived in Western New York, they spent the rest of the weekend with family, reveling in newly-engaged bliss.

Two Real Weddings by Lisa Light Featured in Fall 2011 Issue of Well Wed NY

AS SANDRA’S FAVORITE PLACE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD IS LAKE GEORGE—SHE HAS BEEN SPENDING SUMMERS THERE SINCE INFANCY— SHE IMMEDIATELY KNEW IT WAS THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR THEIR WEDDING

THE PROPOSAL. It was during Sandra’s first year of residency that the couple planned a vacation to Argentina, looking forward to a relaxing getaway. At the beginning of their trip, they stayed in the Patagonia region, on the shores of a gorgeous lake surrounded by mountains. One afternoon, Sandra and Kashie went on a short hike before dinner. Soon, they found themselves standing on a rocky lakefront, overlooking a stunning mountain view. Kashie, who had concealed the ring in a fanny pack he wore on the pretense of keeping his passport safe, knew it was the perfect time.
